Welcome to the Abba’s Heart eBeat, the monthly eNews from Abba’s Heart Ministries.   Read on to be informed and inspired about what God is doing.

 Revival Center Highlights:

God is at Work Around Us:

The homeless continue to come in and they are some of the most grateful people we have ever had the privilege of ministering to. Some will take the help we direct them to, some will not.  But, we still keep loving them, because that’s what Jesus did!

Cal lost everything when he went to prison and now he is out.  Chuck lost it all when he began drinking and couldn’t stop.  Ron couldn’t handle life after the war and was never able to engage in society again.  Ken “had it all” as he says and then his weekend drug habit got a hold of him and now he wanders around the dumpster with the “crew.”  I am amazed at how they look out for one another.  They will wander in for a hug and prayer whenever the doors are open.  I told Jesse to get to work and so he did.  He was young and crippled with a bad attitude, playing games with his heart.  God jolted him one day and healed him and now he pops in once in awhile, completely different than he was when we met him.

However, so many of the homeless have no desire to do what we would consider “normal.”  So, we love them anyway because Jesus said, “... We will always have the poor among us.”  I guess He didn’t tell us to judge them as to why they were poor……or hurting…… or homeless…… just love them and trust the Holy Spirit to help them up and out.

There are times for us all when the smell is gut wrenching and the need is overwhelming; when the confused sentences require more patience than we have and the frustration of unchanged change having permission to lurk in the midst of men is almost beyond what one can stand……. Then we are reminded to press into Jesus all the more!

With the prospect of moving The Revival Center and the Hunger to Hope Friday evening outreaches to a “nicer” location, I weep.  It isn’t that what we have isn’t nice…. It is.  It is very nice.  But, it is located in a place where the rich and poor are welcome to come and are invited to do so.  A location came to me that would not afford any truly lost people and I turned it down because… and I’ll tell you what I told the Realtor… “I cannot preach in a place where the homeless and hurting cannot find their way in.  They preach a sermon that I cannot preach.  By their presence, they require Christianity to make a move toward Christ….. or not.” If we are not ministering to those who are scorned by the world, then how can we truly minister to the Lord?  It is my greatest joy to see the people of substance in beautiful clothing hugging our precious hurting people.  The smell will change you and their simple faith will astound you.  Basically, you will be changed.  So, our new location is half a mile away from where we are now.  I could not be more thrilled.  I welcome the opportunity to reach new people in our new location.  We won’t be across the alley from the liquor store anymore or across the parking lot from all who wander in, so we will miss some, but trust that others will minister there in our absence.  I challenge you to not drive by a beggar next time you see one.  And when you get past that, don’t just hand them a bit of cash.  Hand them more cash than you think is reasonable and give them a hug, a good tight hug in the name of Jesus.  In that instant, you will look more like Jesus than you ever have before and He will rise up to bless whatever you touch, for in that moment…… you have done it unto Him.

The New Location for The Revival Center

We are looking forward to moving into our new building at 2221 Villa in Clovis this summer.  (Across from the theater!)  The architect meetings are finally done and now we are awaiting permits.  The building which was found by a series of miracles (go to this block and then call this guy and ask if he has a building that has no sign up and isn’t for lease but he can lease it to you……) was completed six months ago as an empty shell.  The contractor decided to wait until later in the year to look for a tenant to build the inside to their specifications.  Then we came.  They were not going to lease it at all, then they gave us a lease.  We scooped up an option to purchase the building this week.  It is valued at 1.1 million dollars and is in a perfect location.  The owner wasn’t ever going to sell it but he said that he felt he was supposed to do it and so he was going to sell it to us.  So, here we go.  God only needed six days to make the world, so six months is nothing for Him to collect all that money!

If you want to help, there is a building fund set up on our website.  Go to GET BLESSED at www.abbasheart.com.

Miracle Crusades

The Arizona Hunger to Hope Crusades are building with powerful excitement.  It is our hope to come and bring healing to the hurting there.  There is a whole team of people from different walks of life and different churches praying, fasting, organizing and pushing it through for the Glory of God.  The worship team is ready to go and so is the Lord.  I have been waiting for years for these moments.  God has told me that the miracles will flow with an unbelievable force and surely He will confirm Himself with love upon His people.  We start the first Saturday in April and will continue each month.  Please be in prayer.

The Missouri Hunger to Hope Crusades right on “The strip” in Branson, Missouri have already happened and I must say, this worship team is somewhat of a miracle!  Seven young men all between 15-25 years of age endlessly, tirelessly working for Jesus!  I went and could not believe what I saw.  The Lord got a hold of them and well, it was a wonderful thing to see.  The theater owners came in and wept along with the usual “random people” walking by.  I stand amazed at what the Lord will do.  Branson is on the Arkansas border, so send your people over to get their miracle and love on Jesus with us.  First Monday of each month.

Sorry About That…

If you didn't get the January eBeat, go to www.abbasheart.com and click on GET INTRODUCED and read the online version.  We’ve been experiencing some technical difficulties and it didn’t get out to the entire list.

The Prayer of Moses

It’s not just a hopeful estimate this time, it’s a FACT!  After 19 months of delays, The Prayer of Moses, the second book in the Honest to God series by Sandra Querin, is GETTING PRINTED!!  We have seen the printer’s proof, and it’s simply a matter of shipping them across the country now.  We will be giving out free copies to everyone at the California Hunger to Hope meeting when they arrive.

Always Look on the Inside

There is a story about a man who was exploring some caves by the seashore. In one of the caves he found a canvas bag containing a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled up some clay and left it in the sun to bake. They didn't look like much, but they intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the cave with him.

As he strolled along the beach, to pass the time, he would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could throw.
He thought little about it until he dropped one of the balls and it cracked open on a rock. Inside was a beautiful, precious stone. Excited, the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a similar treasure. He found thousands of dollars worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay balls he had left.  Then it struck him.

He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have had tens of thousands, but he just threw it all away.

Sometimes it's like that with people. We look at someone, maybe even ourselves, and we see the external clay vessel. It doesn't look like much from the outside. It isn't always beautiful or sparkling, so we discount it.  We see that person as less important than someone more beautiful, stylish, well known, or wealthy.

We don’t always take the time to find the treasure God has hidden inside of people. There is a treasure hidden in every one of us. The Bible says “we are fearfully and wonderfully made.” I don't think he means just our physical bodies. I think he means our spiritual selves, which are sometimes hidden from others by the “earthen vessel.”

Take the time to get to know people.  Ask the Father to show them to you the way He sees them.  Then the clay will break away and the brilliant gems shine forth.

Note from Sandi

Keep it clean and whole and right and good, because the world is waiting for you to make the mistake of looking like them and it is a mistake!  They are waiting for you to prove to them that your God can “handle” them.  So many times I hear people say that they were watching this one or that and it just proved that “Christians” aren’t any different.  Kinda made me sick.

We had a call from someone last week who has been playing with the occult and has collected all kinds of bad habits.  He said that he wanted to bring some of his witchcraft friends but didn’t want to make a mess or be disrespectful and didn’t know if we could handle them.  I rejoiced as my staff laughed and told him to “bring it on” because nothing was too hard for Jesus!  And, this is the truth that we count on.  We wage our very lives on it at times!

Donny Update…

It’s been a wonderful thing to watch Donny rest in the arms of his maker through the treachery of Leukemia.  He was in the hospital up until 2 days before the wedding and had a blood transfusion 3 hours before his wedding a month ago, but walked down the aisle anyway! His little bride, Amy, is a powerful addition to our family and we are grateful.  Donny will be back to work a week after his 26th birthday in a month.  Thanks so much for your prayers.  Rejoice with us, our Lord has accomplished more than I can even imagine.  He is feeling stronger and better every day!

“2 weddings and Leukemia in 4 months” maybe that’s a movie!
