Welcome to the Abba’s Heart eBeat, the monthly eNews from Abba’s Heart Ministries.   Read on to be informed and inspired about what God is doing.

Note from Sandi
Psalm 48 describes the places where God dwells as "the joy of the whole earth."  We have such a powerful opportunity to declare that truth, by being that Joy as He abides in us.  I saw this over and over again during the last couple months in the hospital in San Francisco. Perfect strangers are looking for the reason for our hope and joy.  Let the world see your cause... May it be Christ.

My birthday!  My goodness!  If you go online, you'll see that my kids took me on a scavenger hunt through San Francisco, also known as a wild goose chase!  My birthday present was to have Donny get released that day.  Poor Martin had to stay home and work, while we all played.  We felt guilty... for a minute... maybe two!  After almost two months of not being outside, Donny emerged on a cold and windy day to go on our adventure.  Every time I missed a clue in "the hunt," I had to wear something weird.  By the end of the day, I had black gloves with big pink sparkly glowing rings on and a green wig.  Donny was a good sport and I've never heard two people laugh more at one time than Amy and Cynthia!  They got me good and it was good.  A wonderful day.  After a couple weeks, when Donny felt better, I took all your wonderful gifts to me and bought two days at a spa in Carmel for all of us.  What a wonderful time.  Everyone was treated to whatever they wanted and it made me so very happy.

Thanks for your heart, love and all the gifts and cards, notes and letters.  It has been an amazing couple months as your cards keep coming in to tell me it has been worth it all.  Thanks for my birthday wishes and all the time it took for you to be so sweet to me.

Martin and I take Donny and Amy back to San Francisco one week from today to check him in for the four to six weeks back at UCSF for the bone marrow transplant.  Cynthia goes through the final paces as the donor this week.

One woman whose husband was an atheist and was four doors down from Donny told me the day Donny left the hospital... the day we sat and held hands, after two weeks of talking to him, the day he received the Lord, that she thanked God that we were there, because he would never, ever come to the Lord otherwise.  She felt badly Donny was sick, but knew that God had a bigger plan than his sickness.  We agree.  God is busy thinking about how eternity is going to turn out.  Yes, this life, but He is not bound to it like we are... He has got eternity on His mind.  The man died two weeks later.  The Lord is good.  We must live our lives with eternal hope and the desire to bring those lovely jewels to the Crown of Jesus.  Peace to you.  May every good work abound upon you.  I love you and thank the Lord for you.   Sandi

TAKING AIM AT OTHERS

A young lady named Sally relates an experience she had in a Religion Studies class.   Her teacher, Dr. Smith, was known for his elaborate object lessons.

One particular day, Sally walked into the seminary and knew they were in for a fun day. On the wall was a big target and on a nearby table were many darts.  Dr. Smith told the students to draw a picture of someone that they disliked or someone who had made them angry, then pin their drawing up on the target, and he would allow them to throw darts at the person's picture.

Sally's girlfriend drew a picture of a girl who had stolen her boyfriend.  Another friend drew a picture of his little brother. Sally drew a picture of a former friend, putting a great deal of detail into her drawing. She was pleased with the overall effect she had achieved.

The class lined up and began throwing darts, with much laughter and hilarity. Some of the students threw their darts with such force that their targets were ripping apart. Sally looked forward to each of her turns, and was filled with disappointment when Dr. Smith, because of time limits, asked the students to return to their seats.

As Sally sat thinking about how angry she was because she didn't have a chance to throw any more darts at her target, Dr. Smith removed the target from the wall.

Underneath the target was a picture of Jesus...

A complete hush fell over the room as each student viewed the mangled picture of Jesus; holes and jagged marks covered His face and His eyes were pierced.

Dr. Smith said these words, "In as much as you have done it unto the least of these my friends, you have done it unto Me."

No other words were necessary; the tear-filled eyes of each student focused only on the picture of Christ.
