Note from Brenda
The last ten days have been extremely difficult for Sandi as Donny has suffered tremendously from the side effects of the transplant and its medications. She is delegating everything she can so she can focus on being there for him. She hopes to be writing this note again next month.
It was exciting to get the official good news that the bone marrow transplant was successful! It will be a long recovery, and the side effects will begin to diminish, but he won’t be home for several more months. While we rejoice, we can continue to pray for endurance for the Querin family. Update on Donny is our most visited page these days. These weeks following the bone marrow transplant are critical and painful for him. There are photos of the transplant process as well as regular updates on how you can pray for him.
King Camp! Men, we didn’t hear from you this month, and we need to know if we should make a reservation for next year! Visit www.kingcamp.info to learn more. If you want to meet in the chapel, we’ll need to guarantee a much larger group. A $50.00 deposit will tell us you are planning to come. May 22-24, 2009.
Queen Camp Visit www.queencamp.info to register for this year’s retreat! We need 76 more registrations to get the larger meeting room we had last year. Please don’t wait to register if you are thinking about going. If we need to reduce our guarantee there may not be room for you at the last minute. It will be at the same location at the Tenaya Lodge near Yosemite, California. November 14-16, 2008. There are only four months to go! We are working on the theme elements, stocking the Castle Clutter boutique, and preparing the Queen’s gifts. It’s looking to be another awesome retreat!
Common Ground Retreat for Couples Like with King Camp, we need to make some decisions about next year’s reservation very soon. Please let Dora know if you are interested. We still have only four couples registered.
For this year’s retreat, consider setting up a monthly payment plan. Go to GET BLESSED at www.abbasheart.com then choose Retreat Payments. (You may need to scroll down.) Be sure to put in the comments box which retreat you are paying for! A $50.00 deposit holds your spot, and you can make monthly payments. There will be a registration form in the upcoming Abba’s HeartBeat newsletter as well. For Queen Camp, full payment is due in October. Your payments should be at least $100.00 a month if you haven’t started making them yet.
