Escrow Has Successfully Closed!

The Revival Center in the News

A reporter from the Fresno Bee recently visited the Revival Center to take pictures and ask questions.  The article will be in the Sunday paper, in the Faith and Values section, as part of a series about churches in the area.   While we don’t know when the RC will be the featured church, we do know where it will be posted online.  Watch the site below for the story in the coming weeks.  (Note that we are not the “Breaking Free Revival Center” which has already been featured.)

Donny Update

Donny is out of the hospital and enjoying being on the “outside!”  While he is still restricted to an hour’s drive from the hospital, he is able to live a more normal life.  Until it has been 100 days after the transplant, his condition remains critical and his caregivers must be on constant vigil for the slightest symptoms that can quickly become emergencies.   Updates are posted on the website as often as possible.

How Gullible Are We?

A number of years ago a freshman at Eagle Rock Junior High won first prize at the Greater Idaho Falls Science Fair. He was attempting to show how conditioned we have become to alarmists practicing junk science and spreading fear of everything in our environment.  In his project he urged people to sign a petition demanding strict control or total elimination of the chemical "Dihydrogen Monoxide."

And, for plenty of good reasons, since:

1. It can cause excessive sweating and vomiting
2. It is a major component in acid rain
3. It can cause severe burns in its gaseous state
4. Accidental inhalation can kill you
5. It contributes to erosion
6. It decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes
7. It has been found in tumors of terminal cancer patients

He asked 50 people if they supported a ban of the chemical.

Forty three (43) said yes, six (6) were undecided, and only one (1) knew what the chemical was.

Counselor Training

We have a group of 13 adults enrolled in an extensive 15-week accredited counseling course.  They will be trained to help in many situations as the Lord brings the lost and hurting to our doors.  Keep them in your prayers.

Covenant Class

An opportunity for singles to learn what it means to prefer Christ will be offered in a three-month weekly series of classes on Monday nights at the Revival Center starting September 8 at 6:30 pm.  If you are 14 or older, single, and you live close enough to get here, join us and find what God has for you!

There will also be a weekly “God’s Stewards” class for ages 11-13 focusing on developing a relationship with Christ and how to walk Him out in our daily lives.  Mondays at 5:00 pm.

Spiritual Body Builders

Your chapters for August have been Obadiah and Jonah.  The first Monday in September, start reading Galatians 1-5.   If you would like to be a Spiritual Body Builder, contact our office for a brochure with instructions, or download it by going to the link below.  Recordings of many of the discussions are available in the Audio/Video Media System.

Update on Donny is our most visited website page these days. The 100 days following the bone marrow transplant are critical for him.  There are photos of the transplant process as well as regular updates on how you can pray for him.

Queen Camp

It is time to register for this year’s women’s retreat!  It will be at the same location at the Tenaya Lodge near Yosemite, California.  November 14-16, 2008.  It will be an awesome time in the Lord with friends in a beautiful setting!
