Note from Sandi
An amazing Christmas lies just around the corner.
Imagine the joy in heaven when Jesus came. A bittersweet day, I’m sure. As Jesus was born under the shadow of Herod, I wonder why the way was made but not necessarily easily paved. This is truth in our lives and it was true in the life of Jesus our Lord, from the very beginning. All along the way, from inception, the statement shouts in the life of Jesus, “God will make a way!” And that same shout is heard in our daily lives and circumstances as well. God could have simply stopped Herod’s heart in the night. It would have been easier than sending Jesus and his Mom and Dad off to Egypt while Herod went on a rampage to kill babies. But you see, God always gives us the opportunity to hear, listen and obey; thus allowing us to be part of His plan and process. This is how we gain trust. So, as much as God smiled at the idea of building a protection around His Son and never let anyone say or do a wicked thing about Him or to Him… God forsook the idea of a “padded life,” for reality because He knew that we would need to be able to embrace the life of Jesus and His heart, fully knowing that He truly does understand…
Isaiah 53:3-4 - “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.”
“Lord, may our lives be lived in such a way that you are highly esteemed and never despised or rejected. Thank you for the privilege of knowing you… There is no greater honor.”
Donny Update
Donny is home after 10 weeks in the hospital. This is the first Christmas he will be home for three years. No more “Decking the Halls” of the hospital for us this year! He is on several medications to help finish off the infections and disasters that got a hold of his lungs. He has been home for a week and instead of one machine to help him breathe, like before he went in the hospital, he has four now. We are steadfastly believing the Lord will raise him up, no matter how it looks. He has been home for 12 days and has been unable to get out of bed so far. It is the small victories that we rejoice in… the ability to exert himself to chew his food or to reach and grab a hold of something… Thank you for all your prayers for us. They have mattered. When people ask me how I am doing this… My response is quick and simple, “The prayers of the saints and the faithfulness of God.” Please be in prayer for Donny’s wife, Amy, this week, she is gone to South Carolina for a few days to visit with her family there.
“You have been a big blessing in helping us keep the hospital and ambulance co-pays down and now with all the expenses for Donny's rehabilitation, we thank you for that!”

The Christmas Envelope
It's just a small, white envelope stuck among the branches of our Christmas tree. No name, no identification, no inscription. It has peeked through the branches of our tree for the past 10 years or so.
It all began because my husband Mike hated Christmas---oh, not the true meaning of Christmas, but the commercial aspects of it-overspending...the frantic running around at the last minute to get a tie for Uncle Harry and the dusting powder for Grandma -- the gifts given in desperation because you couldn't think of anything else.
Knowing he felt this way, I decided one year to bypass the usual shirts, sweaters, ties and so forth. I reached for something special just for Mike. The inspiration came in an unusual way.

It will be offered quarterly. Since this is the first time for the class, all Revival Center meetings that normally happen on Thursdays will be cancelled so that everyone will be able to participate. The classes in April, July, October, and thereafter will be primarily for new attenders and new believers, though everyone is welcome.

We are anticipating a very special time again at the beautiful Tenaya Lodge. It is such a blessing to worship the Creator in the midst of all the natural wonder of that area. As always, the retreat will be filled with worship, life-changing messages from God’s Word, powerful prayer times, fun, great food, plentiful chocolate, and amazing interaction with godly women. Spend Saturday afternoon in a cozy fireplace area, getting pampered in the spa, riding horses, hiking, soaking in the jacuzzi, or enjoying a long, snoozy nap. Maybe you will be the Queen for a Day and get all the great benefits that go with that. For those building a library of Christian resources, we will have some inspiring books for sale, as well as your favorites. Register early and start making payments of only $40 a month.
