 From Our Perspectives

Sandi calls me Mrs. Scholl which I absolutely love.  My name is Liz Scholl.  Two years ago, I began working for the ministry with the title of Media Manager.  I work with the pastors and people across the United States in arranging for Sandi to speak at their revival meetings.  I am now very familiar with the airline schedule out of Fresno and the connections across the country to make sure that Sandi gets where she needs to go.  I usually provide Sandi with full “travel papers” that include flight info, hotel confirmations, occasionally a car rental, directions, contact information, service times, and even weather conditions.  I make sure that area mailers are sent to the surrounding areas and I also provide the churches with advertisement in the form of flyers and radio announcements.
The second hat I wear gives me the title of Accounts Payable person.  I am the one that takes the funds that you, the people provide and I make sure that the bills are paid.  Yes, the ministry has bills.  The ministry also takes what is given and it provides for others who are struggling. It is my job to make sure that this area of the ministry stays organized so that God can continue doing what He wants to do.
I have known Sandi for almost 10 years now.  I don’t believe that words can convey what she has done for me over that time.  Sandi has worked with my husband and I through some trying times always with the goal that God was going to get what He wanted.  She is always about finding the heart of Jesus.  I would not be where I am today had it not been for Sandi’s prayers and teaching, and I definitely would not have been Mrs. Scholl.

I’ve been here for nearly six years now, having started in the tiny office behind the Chiropractor. part time, because we all shared the same desk.   My job description has evolved over the years, and now I spend most of my time working on the website, with printed materials, and CD’s.  I am amazed at how God can provide skills as they become needed.  I didn’t know I could do any of these things, and yet when the time has come to do them, they come easily enough.   I’m sometimes called Nancy Drew, for my love of solving problems.
It’s been great to see the ministry grow and change, and to see the faithfulness of God’s people.  As God leads, you flex, you give, you grow, and amazing things happen.
I live here in Kingsburg, and have a 13-year-old son, Eric.  I bought a 72-year-old adobe house in October, and it’s been a walk in faith to see God provide.  I first looked at the house a year ago, and it was love at first sight.  The sellers and my budget couldn’t find a happy place to meet, but Sandi kept saying, “It’s your house.”  Six months later I got a phone call that they would sell at my price!   Miracles happen!

I’ve been coordinating retreats at Abba’s Heart for over two years now, Queen Camp, Common Ground, and King Camp. I love knowing that God had used the retreats to transform the lives of His people!  I am always amazed at the greatness of God and humbled by his love and grace. I also handle the income side of the ministry funding. I send out receipts and make bank deposits.  What a great opportunity to use my 23 years of bank experience for the glory of God.
I don’t know why Sandi calls me Dora Mae, but I love hearing it.  I came to California from Greece when I was 14. I am married to my wonderful husband Breck, who is a college professor, and we have two sons, Jason, who is a freshman in college and Nikolas, who is in the 7th grade.  My boys are my miracle children. Truly, they are gifts from God.
Sandi has been such a blessing to our family.  We count it a great privilege to call her our friend and mentor.  Sandi’s love for the Lord is an amazing example that we strive to follow.

I am the “go to it” girl for the ministry.  I started to work for the ministry a little over four years ago and I have been blessed to work part-time here and still have time to handle my husband and two preschool children as well.  Most of my job duties revolve around the Revival Center.  I also work with the CD portion of the ministry.
Working at the Revival Center, God has provided me the opportunity to bless several of the impromptu visitors at the building.  I met a young woman who was searching for a church to attend.  A week later, she  found herself looking for a new living situation for herself and her child.  God allowed me to help her by providing her with the contact person who had the information she needed for a new start.  Even though I am out shopping for nursery supplies or picking up food for the worship team, God has always found a way to use these everyday tasks to spread His Word.

Shhh!  Sandi’s Turning 50!
We thought it would be fun to take this opportunity to show her just how much she is loved by so many people!   She doesn’t pick up the mail at the P.O. Box anymore, so let’s find the happiest birthday cards we can find and tuck in the most generous gifts we can come up with.  Be sure to add a short testimony of what God has done in your life recently.  We’ll collect them here and surprise her with them on her birthday, on April 15.  Sandi gives and gives and gives, and it’s so easy to soak it all in.  This is our big chance to simply overwhelm her with the gratitude nearly everyone reading this newsletter feels.

For those who prefer to give online, we are setting up a special fund at www.abbasheart.com/donationlist.asp.  (You may need to scroll down.)  We’ll print out your comments and gift amount and add them to her surprise!

Happy Anniversary Abba’s Heart!
It’s been ten years since the ministry got off the ground!  Although Sandi has been in ministry much longer than that, it’s so incredible to see what God has done through a willing vessel in only ten years!

The ministry has gone in various directions over the past ten years, and grown in many ways.  From a tiny cubicle in the back of a Chriropractor’s office to the spacious downtown office we now enjoy, from borrowing churches to having a brand new Revival Center under reconstruction.  As God has led, Sandi has followed, whether it made sense or not.  We know there must be so many testimonies out there of what God has done in people’s lives!

The new Revival Center building on Villa is the biggest faith adventure yet.  We will own the building and will need to depend on God for finance in ways we haven’t yet faced.  His leading in this has been affirmed over and over again.  We can clearly see that this is what God wants and we are so blessed to watch as Sandi stands firm for God.  Lives are being saved and transformed by the dozens each week. This comes not just from Sandi’s ministry of the gospel, but from having this place and people giving of themselves and their finance.  We don’t know where it will go from here, and we are excited to see what God will do with what He is given to make it happen.
